The Quest for the Perfect BBQ Sauce

The wide range of opinions on store-bought Whole30 BBQ sauce and Paleo BBQ sauce recipes found on the interwebs has made me hesitant to share my personal recipe. However, after constant insistence from my partner Justin, who absolutely loves this version, I can’t keep it a secret any longer.

This sauce strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and smoky flavors. Don’t limit yourself to using it only in Whole30 dishes! My boyfriend constantly reaches for this sauce, even when he’s not following the Whole30 program. It tastes amazing in dishes like sweet and sour sheet pan chicken, boneless chicken wings, and BBQ pulled pork with pineapple coleslaw. All of these recipes are Whole30 and Paleo-friendly. Can it get any better?

The Convenient Option

If you’re not inclined to make your own BBQ sauce or simply haven’t found a homemade recipe that you love, all hope is not lost! Let me introduce you to Tessemae’s Whole30 BBQ sauce. This pre-made sauce is a fantastic option with a mouthwatering taste. I always keep a bottle in my fridge for those days when I don’t feel like making my own sauce. Plus, it has a longer shelf life compared to homemade BBQ sauce.

In fact, all of Tessemae’s Whole30 Approved sauces and dressings are absolutely exceptional. When I first started eating Paleo, these products made my life so much easier. They provided me with a variety of flavors without the hassle of making my own sauces.

The Secret Ingredient

This Whole30 BBQ sauce recipe is delicious even without liquid smoke. However, if you want to take it to the next level, I highly recommend adding some. Whole Foods offers a brand that uses only liquid smoke as an ingredient. Alternatively, you can order the liquid smoke I personally use from Amazon. A little goes a long way, so a bottle of this stuff will last you a while.

The brands worth checking out for Whole30 and Paleo liquid smoke include Cedar House (linked above), Lazy Kettle, Wright’s, and Living Nutritional’s (although it’s not my personal favorite).

Versatile and Flavorful

The possibilities for using this paleo BBQ sauce are endless. It’s perfect for adding a burst of flavor to chicken tenders, oven-baked fries, boneless wings, breakfast potatoes, and more. As summer approaches, get ready for grilling season! I can already hear BBQ beef brisket calling my name.

So go ahead, indulge in this mouthwatering Whole30 BBQ sauce, and elevate your dishes to a whole new level of deliciousness!

Enjoy!
