Stovetop Directions

  1. In a large pan, cover the corned beef brisket with water and add the included spice packet.
  2. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 ½ to 3 hours until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  3. With 15 minutes remaining, add 1 small onion, 6 medium carrots, and three halved potatoes to the pot.
  4. Cover and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the meat and place it on a warm platter, covering it to keep it moist.
  6. In the same pot, add 1 cabbage quarter to the other vegetables and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes.

Oven Directions

  1. Remove the corned beef from its package and place it on a rack in a roasting pan with 1 inch of water.
  2. Cover the pan and seal it with foil to lock in the moisture.
  3. Cook in the oven at 275°F for 2 hours and 45 minutes, or until the meat is fork-tender (160°F).
  4. Remove the meat from the oven and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Slice the meat thinly against the grain and serve.

Slow Cooker Directions
