Ingredients: Adding a Textural Symphony

While the onion, celery, and cranberries are optional in the stuffing, they add a lovely textural element that elevates the dish to new heights. We highly recommend including them. If desired, you can serve the gravy on the side, allowing everyone to add it to their own plate according to their preference.

How To Make Air Fryer Stuffed Pork Chops: Effortless Bliss

Thanks to your trusty air fryer, the hard work is taken care of. The steps are pretty easy, requiring just a sharp knife, a large bowl, a silicone spatula, and, of course, your air fryer.

  1. Preparation: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Meanwhile, microwave 1 ½ cups of chicken broth for 2+ minutes (until boiling), or bring it to a light boil on the stovetop.
  2. Stuffing: In a large mixing bowl, combine 6 ounces of Stove Top stuffing mix with 2 cups of hot chicken broth, 2 tablespoons of butter, and ½ a cup of milk. Stir to combine. If you’re opting for any optional ingredients, such as cranberries, celery, or onion (not the gravy), mix them in now.
  3. Butterfly Pork Chops: Trim any excess fat from your 1 ½ pounds of pork chops as needed, then cut them ¾ of the way through the thickest part (butterfly them). Be careful not to cut all the way through.
  4. Season: Combine ½ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of pepper, and ¼ teaspoon of onion powder. Sprinkle the seasoning over both sides of each pork chop.
  5. Stuff: Fill each pork chop with approximately ½ a cup of stuffing per chop and transfer them to the air fryer basket.
  6. Air Fry: Place the stuffed pork chops in the preheated air fryer and cook at 380°F (193°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Allow them to rest for 5 minutes before serving. If desired, top with gravy.

Angela’s Tips & Recipe Notes: Adding Your Personal Touch

  • I used pork chops that were between 5-6 ounces each.
  • If desired, you can pan-sear the pork chops in a skillet over medium heat with a tablespoon of olive oil (before stuffing them) for a golden-brown exterior.
  • If your family prefers the vegetables in the stuffing to be extra soft, you could sauté the onion and celery before combining them with the stuffing mix.
  • If you’re unable to fit all the stuffed pork chops into your air fryer basket, you may need to cook them in batches. Make sure there’s enough room for air to circulate around the food as it cooks.

Storing & Reheating: Your Leftovers Deserve Some Love

Refrigerate any leftover air-fried pork chops in a shallow airtight container for up to 3-4 days.

To reheat, place the air-fried stuffing-stuffed pork chops in a baking dish or pan with a splash of broth. Cover them with foil and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Alternatively, you can return the pork chops to your preheated air fryer and heat them at 350°F (175°C) for 6-8 minutes, or until heated through.
